Active in visual art and sound since the late 1990s, Anam Gu Anam (aka Nanopix, Benoît Balfet) is a multidisciplinary artist. His musical universe serves as a tool for visualization, projection, and sometimes meditation. From electronica to ambient, including experimental music, his musical tastes are wide-ranging. All of these influences can be found both in his productions and in his mixes. Since the beginning of his explorations, he has gone through many phases… Since 2021, he has focused on creating music using instruments (electronic or acoustic), leaving a large space for improvisation and for performances recorded live without sequential editing. The “right moment” (of recording, playing, listening, and broadcasting) is at the center of his creative process. The sonic energy that emerges likely carries certain psychological benefits.
